Badger brush, silver tip, softener

Price range: $75.00 through $85.00

This is not a commodity brush. It is a tool of intention. Each badger brush offered in my shop has been carefully sourced and hand-selected from traditional brushmakers in the United Kingdom, where these brushes are still made by hand using time-honored methods. Crafted from mature silver tip badger hair, these brushes represent the highest standard available for faux painting, imitation marble, and fine wood graining. Silver tip badger hair comes from fully mature animals and is prized for its uniquely fine, naturally tapered ends. Unlike coarser grades of badger hair, silver tip fibers are exceptionally soft at the tips

Description

This is not a commodity brush.
It is a tool of intention.

Each badger brush offered in my shop has been carefully sourced and hand-selected from traditional brushmakers in the United Kingdom, where these brushes are still made by hand using time-honored
methods. Crafted from mature silver tip badger hair, these brushes represent the highest standard available for faux painting, imitation marble, and fine wood graining.

Silver tip badger hair comes from fully mature animals and is prized for its uniquely fine, naturally tapered ends. Unlike coarser grades of badger hair, silver tip fibers are exceptionally soft at the tips while maintaining strength at the base. This balance allows the brush to move glaze without disturbing it, making it ideal for softening, blending, feathering, and creating seamless transitions of tone. For faux finish work, this matters.

Silver tip badger brushes:

Disperse glaze evenly without leaving harsh marks
Soften veins in imitation marble without flattening depth
Blend wood graining effects while p

Hold and release material with exceptional control

The result is a finish that feels natural, layered, and alive—never forced, never mechanical.

Each brush is carefully shaped, set, and balanced to respond intuitively in the hand, becoming an extension of the artist rather than a tool that must be fought or corrected.

These are the brushes I personally use in my own work and in teaching—because when the goal is realism, restraint, and timeless craftsmanship, the quality of the brush matters.
